Practice Concentrations

Dierra is an associate attorney with SW&L Criminal Defense Practice Area. Dierra helps to assist individuals who are charged with Felonies, misdemeanors, infractions, and traffic citations in North Dakota. Dierra is passionate about helping people navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system during what is likely the worst moment of someone’s life.

Professional History

Dierra has been with SW&L since 2022. Prior to joining SW&L, Dierra clerked for the Grand Forks County State’s Attorney’s office in Grand Forks, ND. As well as clerking for a District Court Judge out of Wahpeton, ND. 

Education History

Dierra attended Valley City State University where she earned a degree in Human Services. After graduation Dierra enrolled in the University of North Dakota School of Law where she earned her law degree in 2022. During her time at UND Law Dierra participated in a number of student organizations and competitions. Due to her love for sports Dierra served as the Treasurer for the UND Sports Law Association for two years. Dierra also served on the board for the UND Law Criminal Law Association, which is where she deepened her passion for Criminal Defense. While in her final year at UND Law, Dierra and her partner Priscila were finalists in the Carrigans Cup Mock Trial competition, a competition designed to demonstrate a team’s trial advocacy skills. 

Personal Background

Dierra was born in Des Moines, Iowa before moving to Valley City, North Dakota where she spent most of her childhood. Dierra spent most of her life playing sports of all types. After excelling in high school sports, Dierra went on to play college basketball for Minnesota State University of Moorhead before finishing her career at Valley City State University for the Vikings. Sports taught Dierra the importance of hard work, commitment, and dedication. After many years of arguing with her identical twin and younger siblings, Dierra has known this was something she excelled at, which led her to make a career out of it. 
Dierra currently resides in Fargo, North Dakota. In her spare time, Dierra enjoys traveling, spending time at the lake, playing sports, and hanging out with her family and friends.

Community Involvement

Dierra volunteers at a number of non-profit organizations within the area but the events most near and dear to her heart are the events for her little sister. These events are: Gigi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Acceptance Walk and the Special Olympics
