Ben is an attorney specializing in helping people resolve family law issues including divorce, alimony, child custody and visitation, child support, adoption, and CHIPS or child protection matters. He also assists clients with establishing or maintaining guardianships and conservatorships. Most important to Ben are understanding clients’ needs and finding creative ways to help clients meet their goals.



During law school, Ben gained experience as a law clerk for a family law attorney in Minneapolis. After graduation, Ben worked for a year and a half as a staff attorney for a District Court Judge in Glencoe, Minnesota, obtaining invaluable insight into how judges think about cases and issues generally, and learning specifically about family law from his supervising judge who worked as a family law attorney for nearly 25 years.



Ben earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of St. Thomas Law School in Minneapolis, where he earned Dean’s Award for the top score in his Family Law class. Prior to that, he graduated from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul with a double major: Business and Biblical Studies.



Ben met his wife during college; they were married and celebrated the birth of their first child during law school. Ben played collegiate football and still enjoys watching and participating in sports including football, hockey, and golf. He also loves to fish, play poker, and spend time with his son.
